  Coach & Manager Positions with PEI Sailing Team



Call for application - Team PEI Sailing Coach

This is an application for a solely volunteer position. Submission of
application must be received by the PEISA prior to February 17, 2012.
Applications must include a resume, a statement of why the individual
is best suited for the job (including intentions for time commitment),
and a log of sailing and coaching hours.


Coaches should/must:
a) have coaching experience at provincial, regional, national or
Canada Games level;
b) have sound coaching principles and a good history of coaching;
c) have the ability to interact with age group athletes who compete in
Canada Games, encompassing ethical practices, moral behaviours,
parental interaction, as well as a cooperative nature;
d) be familiar with their sport’s structure;
e) have previous experience with public relations, working with the
press, public speaking, fundraising capabilities;
f) act as an ambassador of the province and their sport;
g) be prepared to spend many hours at this task, in addition to
regular commitments ; and
h) agree to the responsibilities outlined in the head coach and
assistant coach agreement form (to come from sport pei).

It is imperative that coaches are trained and certified by the
Canadian Yachting Association and the NCCP. The Province of PEI
requires coaches to be fully certified with NCCP level III. If this is
not their status at the time of submitting their application, a
detailed plan as to how they plan to achieve this must be submitted as
well. Coaches must also be in good standing with their provincial and
national sport organization which he or she represents.
Finally, all coaches must complete a criminal record check (vulnerable
sectors search included) prior to being appointed PEI Sailing Coach.





Call for application - Team PEI Sailing Team Manager


This is an application for a solely volunteer position. Submission of
application must be received by the PEISA prior to February 17, 2012.
Applications must include resume, a statement as to why the individual
is best suited for the job (including intentions for time commitment),
and a description of other similar positions they have previously
held. Managers must also be in good standing with their provincial and
national sport organization which he or she represents. Managers must
have a minimum of NCCP level I theory.


Managers should/must:
a) have previous administrative experience;
b) agree to the responsibilities outlined in the Team Managers
Agreement form (to come); and
c) be responsible on behalf of the Canada Games team, for budget,
reports, public relations, communication arrangements for selection,
training and competition, and act as a liaison with the chef de
mission as required.
Finally, all managers must complete a criminal record check
(vulnerable sectors search included) prior to being appointed PEI
Sailing Coach.
