New Race Officers
PEISA is pleased to report PEI has eight new race officers certified through Canadian Yachting Association. CYA's Race Management Program provides competent regatta management skills for volunteers organizing and running sailing competitions. The program consists of four levels. Patrick Lymburner, a Level 4 Race Officer, and Course Conductor, from Ontario conducted a two day clinic in March and is pleased at the knowledge base and enthusiasm portrayed by the candidates in PEI.
Achieving Level One Race Officer Status from CYC: Terry Allen, Wellington Gay, Harry Holman, Danny Mosher, Ronnie Switzer, Nicole Baker and from SYC: Greg Bowles (SYC) and Blair Campbell (SYC). Achieving Level Two Status: Terry Allen, Wellington Gay, Nicole Baker, and Blair Campbell (SYC). Level Two Pending: Danny Mosher, Ronnie Switzer, Greg Bowles (SYC) and their pre-requisites should be completed by end of June. To date, PEI has had only one certified Level One race officer, and we are pleased and proud of the commitment of these new race managers - congratulations to all. Congratulations also to Terry Allen PEISA's new Chairman for Race Management in PEI.
